Death Grips broke up
here’s the only photo I took of them
I shot this video a long time ago. While on the road with a camera I had for photographs and a small microphone I carried in the same bag. I shot it in an attempt to pay homage to Vincent Moon like - single take performance videos because of how bored I was with every performance video I came across made with bands like / around Seahaven. Mounted cameras on tripods, no microphones, maybe a watermark / intro for marketing, hit record walk away let them do their thing, count your views, go home, good collaboration (except not). It felt insulting to witness and dishonest. So no watermarks, no intro, no names, etc. They do their dance when you hit record, you should too. Move around, have fun, be alive, collaborate, who cares if you don’t have steady cam rigs or whatever (I didn’t, I just held my breath a lot). Anyways, I don’t think highly of this video but it was an attempt.
Hope you enjoy it though.
It’s also the last piece you’ll see me make with Seahaven.
